In Good Scents is built on real moments — the kind you remember forever. If you’ve got a story you can practically smell, submit it below, and we may turn it into a future fragrance.

What’s new: Reviews + Story Submissions (combined)

We’re doing something different on purpose: your review stays a true product review first — and your fragrance story is a separate, optional step after.

When you leave a review, you’ll submit your honest feedback on what you purchased (the normal kind).

After your review is submitted, you’ll see an optional second form where you can include:

• your memory (short is fine),
• what it should smell like,
• and any notes/vibes you want us to use.

That way, your story still lives where it belongs — connected to a real product experience — but it stays separate, customer-only, and spam-free. 🤎

What to include in your story (simple is perfect)

You don’t have to write a novel — just give us the heart of it:

• Where were you? What was happening?
• What did the air smell like? (or what should it smell like?)
• Any notes you love (ex: vanilla, rain, citrus, smoke, cotton, woods, spice…)
• Any notes you don’t want
• The vibe: clean / cozy / moody / sweet / fresh / warm / nostalgic / etc.

Reviews can be voted on (help us pick winners)

To make this fun and community-driven, reviews on our site can be:

• upvoted (helpful / love this / make this one),
• downvoted (not for me / doesn’t fit / less helpful).

Those votes help us spot:

• the stories people connect with most,
• which fragrance ideas feel like “YES, that should exist,”
• and which ones aren’t hitting the same way.

A few important things (no pressure — just clarity)

• No guarantee your story will be selected or produced. We may receive more submissions than we can make.
• If chosen, you won’t be approving the final fragrance. We’ll create it based on your submission and do our best to match the feeling, memory, and vibe — but fragrance is subjective and we’ll be blending it in our style.
• We may edit or shorten your story to fit the brand tone, flow, and readability — while keeping the heart and main focus of what you shared.
• The first name you enter on your submission may be used within the story if it’s published (example: “Mia remembers…”, “Eli always…”, etc.). If you prefer a nickname, use that instead.
• If your story is selected and we turn it into a fragrance, we’ll email you from the email your review to confirm your shipping address for your FREE 8oz candle (just in case you’ve moved). You’ll have 14 business days to reply and verify your details. If we don’t hear back in that timeframe, the fragrance may still be produced and launched as planned (since development/testing happens before we reach out), but the free thank-you candle may be forfeited due to unverified shipping information.

Permission + rights (the simple, clear version)

By submitting your fragrance story, you agree that:

• you are sharing your story voluntarily,
• you give In Good Scents permission to use, edit, adapt, publish, and create products inspired by your submission,
• you understand you will not receive compensation beyond the thank-you gift described above (if selected), and
• you release In Good Scents from claims related to the use of your submission (including story wording, fragrance interpretation, and creative direction).

(In plain words: you’re allowing us to turn your idea into a real scent and share it in our brand style without legal headaches later.)
